STINGER 45 KIT CONTENTS AND DESCRIPTIONS
Short Kit ($100)
Contents: Painted-in-the-mold composite fuselage, painted fiberglass canopy, servo covers, tapered carbon fiber boom w/molded riser, CNC cut foam wing cores, tail surface templates, building & bagging video.
Description: This kit is designed for those who are experienced builders and want to tailor the wing and tail lay-up to meet their specific needs. All the tail and wing parts (except the foam wing cores) will need to be cut using the included templates, prepped, and vacuum bagged.
Builder's Kit Contents ($145):
Contents: Painted-in-the-mold composite fuselage, fiberglass canopy, servo covers, tapered carbon fiber boom w/molded riser, CNC cut foam wing cores, pre-cut 1/64" 3-layer ply wing skins with beveled trailing edges, kevlar hinge material, spruce leading edge stock, spruce wing tip blanks, balsa wing bolt reinforcement blocks, fiberglass wing-joining tape, pre-cut balsa fin and stabilizer with beveled edges, kevlar for elevator hinge, shaping and cutting templates, and building & bagging video. The builder will need: 1 and 2 ounce glass, .014 mylar, 12K Carbon tow, release wax, vacuum press system.
Description: This kit is designed for those who want to learn, or are leaning, how to do composite vacuum bagging. It includes much of what the builder needs to complete the kit. The balsa tail cores and pre-cut and pre-beveled. Light sanding is all that is needed to prep for bagging. The wing skins are also pre-cut and have beveled trailing edges. Even the balsa wing bolt reinforcements that go in the wing are pre-shaped. Estimated build labor is 15 hours.
Full Kit Contents ($199):
Contents: Painted-in-the-mold composite fuselage, painted fiberglass canopy, servo covers, tapered carbon fiber boom w/molded riser, wing panels pre-sheeted with 1/64" ply, kevlar hinges, carbon capped ailerons, pre-shaped spruce leading edge and wing tips, pre-painted fiberglassed tail parts with kevlar elevator hinge, building & bagging video.
Description: This kit is designed for those who want a more complete kit and don't want to mess around with a vacuum bag. The wing panels will need to be joined, painted, and the ailerons cut free. The glassed tail parts need to be glued to the boom and boom glued to the pod via a simple plug on tenon (no alignment blocks and PU like the first version). Estimated build labor is 5 hours.
